Pharmacy for Nursing Homes and Aged Care Facilities

Flinders Discount Chemist works as a pharmacy for nursing homes and aged care facilities, alongside the local community, fertility clinics and doctor surgeries we already look after. For facility managers and nursing staff, that means one local pharmacy looking after residents’ medicines, with an allocated facility pharmacist, daily deliveries and ongoing communication with your nursing team.

Below is what we offer facilities, how deliveries and dose packing work, and how to get started. If you would like to talk it through first, call us on (02) 4296 5548.

What We Offer Aged Care Facilities

  • An allocated facility pharmacist
  • Dedicated staff members for every registered unit we look after
  • Daily deliveries, with free delivery 7 days a week
  • Ongoing communication with your nursing staff about medicines and facility needs
  • Competitive pricing, supported by our wholesale capabilities and buying power
  • Prescription compounding for residents who can’t use a commercially made medicine

Aged Care Pharmacy Support for Your Residents

Many people living in aged care take several medicines a day, and keeping those medicines supplied and on time is a large part of a nursing team’s work. An aged care pharmacy that knows your facility can make that easier. Your allocated facility pharmacist is the person your team can talk to about residents’ medicines, supply questions and changes.

Our pharmacy has more than 20 years of experience, and our team of pharmacists, pharmacy staff and delivery drivers looks after the facilities we work with as well as our local customers.

Nursing Home Medication Delivery

We send medicines routinely to the nursing homes and medical establishments we supply, with daily deliveries and free delivery 7 days a week. Delivery suits facilities that need medicines to arrive without staff having to collect them. When you get in touch, ask us how delivery would work for your facility’s location.

Webster-Pak for Aged Care: Dose Packing

A dose administration aid such as a Websterpak (often written Webster-Pak) sorts each person’s tablets and capsules into a sealed pack by day and time of day. Packs like these can make medicine rounds easier to check, because staff can see at a glance which doses are due and which have been given.

We offer a free Websterpak medication management service. Talk with us about how dose packing could work for your residents. For more background, read our guide to Webster packs and who needs them.

Compounded Medicines for Residents

Some residents can’t use a medicine in the form it is commercially made. As a compounding pharmacy and a member of the Professional Compounding Chemists of Australia (PCCA), we prepare medicines that a doctor has prescribed for the person, made to suit their needs.
